If required and once qualified, residents are able to obtain a 30-day supply of needed prescriptions from participating pharmacies.
If required prescriptions are expensive, the Medical Assistant provides the application for prescription assistance programs. She assists with completing paperwork and obtaining any needed documents. Once approved (takes 1-2 weeks), the resident receives a one-year supply of the medication.
Free eye exams and gift certificates for glasses are available to qualified residents.
Our Medical Assistant will help qualified residents navigate the Florida Medicaid/Medicare website and assist with applying for that coverage if the resident doesn't have access to a computer.
We also connect uninsured residents with the local Marketplace health insurance navigator for assistance getting lower cost coverage.
Since 2008, the Seminole Medical System of Care (called HealthLink) has been funded by Seminole County (FL) Government to ensure that residents in need have access to primary care services. Each year, hundreds of service requests result in residents receiving medical care, vision checks and eyeglasses, prescription assistance enrollment, and other minor health services.
